      Los Cabos or Cancun?

planning on a trip with the wife and 1 year old kid and want to go to either Los Cabos or Cancun beginning of June. Anybody have any thoughts on which is better? More for sight seeing, relaxing, eating and drinking. Not partying (doesnt mean no drinking haha)

Also is it better to do the all inclusive hotels? thank you!

Im looking online and they have deals at 4 star all inclusive hotel with flight for 3 people for roughly 1200. Is that a good deal?

Cancun is more about the family and for the Hotel Riu Palace las Américas (All inclusive 24hrs).
Los cabos is more for the adult and they have a Hotel Riu (All inclusive)
      I've been to both

Cancun is a much longer flight if that is of any importance to you having a 1 year old. Cabo is only about a 2 hour flight from San Diego (take the Alaska Air flight). I've never been to Cancun so I can't comment on the overall pros & cons. I stayed in Cabo at Pueblo Bonito on the Pacific side....can't go into the ocean there due to rip currents but who cares when you have something like 6 pools with bars

Riviera Maya about 30 min drive south of Cancun. Cleaner, quiter, and still everything near by. I know rate all my vaca by Riviera Maya if it is better or worse. So far no other winners.

I've only been to cancun, I'd like to go back, we did a few tours, saw Tulum, Xel-Ha, coba, snorkels at some other place south of cancun. But you have to drive at least 30 min for any attraction, and it is an all day travel. We left SD at 5am and arrived in Cancun at 5ish (I think they are central time zone)
The Mrs. Says cabo is more compact and everything is in walking distance.

Been to both, been a while since I was in cabo. Gonna be hot in both places, cabo is pretty sweltering. I think there's more to do in cancun, maybe more kid friendly but with a 1 year old pool is probably the highlight for your kid and both will have them. Distance could be the deciding factor, marlins point is a good one (2 hrs vs 3-4). If you pick cabo, it is cooler if you can get toward the pacific side, but can't reAlly ocean swim in the pacific side, at least where I stayed which was a nice condo resort. Probably more all inclusives in cancun, it's pretty cool there. Don't do the las mujeres snorkeling trip if you go to cancun though, unless the weather is really calm.

I ended up booking cabo because of length of trip and also price. Cancun was almost twice as expensive. now if anybody want to tell me what to do there. im staying at all inclusive place but if there is a must place eatery that i need to know of, or activity i need to do, please let me know. keep in mind, we do have a 1 year old kid~ thank you

Prob a good choice with a young child. Less of a plane ride, same time zone, prob better flight times. Go to Cancun when your child gets older and you have a sitter. Mexico and all inclusive places are the way to go and really relax. In Cancun I go way outside of the City, South, to Playa Del Carmen area. Get out of town and its much nicer. I stay at Xcaret and walk to the park early in the AM before the buses.

Cabo might be more of an adult drinking spot, ha. Best to stay in your resort, lounge, check out the town by day, hang at your resort by night....unless you are in for some people watching and shots...Cabo at night is...well, the things I've seen....LOL

Good Call, either are great and you will have a good time. Careful about all the pressure to take tours, book trips, etc when you check in. Just chill and review all at your time. Internet research ahead of time like you are doing will set the right expectations.

      Have fun!

my plans are to walk around during the day on the beach (i know i cant go in the water) but i heard there is place where people can go in the water. I probably wont do any excursions. More of a relaxing, spent time with family, hit the pools, drink a lot and eat a lot!

but if there are any malls, shopping, places to walk around, or must eat hole in the wall food places, please let me know!

I asked that same question the other night.. I think were booking cancun to make it worth it. Taking little ones so should be fun. I know theres alot of good deals out there but flights are pricey. Perhaps we'll save some dinero flying out of volaris in TJ.

Yeah I didn't get that part as well but when I try to book everything seperately for same flight and hotel cheap carribeans saved me couple hundred still. I paid 1100 for 3 nights for all inclusive hotel and flight compared to paying 600 for flight and 1400 fo hotel.
