      Small Pond Filter Recommendations

      Hey guys,

I'm looking for recommendations for a pond filter for ~100g above ground pond? I have a diy filter but it just isn't cutting it. I'd like something that doesn't require a ton of maintenance like the internal filters do. Does anyone have experience with something like this?

Hey Brad u can actually build something like that out of a 30g or 55g barrel, pvc, bio balls, and some filter pads for about the same or close to that price but have a larger filter.

I would modify it a bit. My inlet would be at the bottom and outlet would be at the top. But u would have to get a stronger pump. One bulkhead at the top and two at the bottom with a ball valve on one of them for cleaning purpose. I would add a uv light on it too.

      Ditto what Michael said.

Lowes sells a small cannister filter / UV sterilizer unit for a decent price.

Where do I get the media? Since it's such a small pond though, I don't know if I want a bigger filter. I guess in freshwater that doesn't really make as much difference though does it?
