      Neptune Apex Email Setup

I am trying to setup my Neptune to send email alerts for the conditions I specify; however, I can't get the email process to work. I have things setup per the instructions, but every time I click email test and update no email gets sent out.

Anyone with some insight/experience that can help out would be greatly appreciated.

That's because gmx is no linger supported. That's what information is already in there. If you are trying to use Google as the sender it won't work either. Hopefully Russ can give you some advice on who to use. I'm using something he set up for me.

ok well that helps a ton - i had set up a GMX to use as the sender. So there is my problems. I saw the bit about gmail/hotmail. Any idea what I can use to push the emails out. Really any email service that does not use a SSL connection to the SMTP server.

I have cox as my ISP - would that work?

      Yes, Cox works fine.

      SMTP server: smtp.cox.net
      SMTP port: 25
From address: xxxxxxxxxxx@cox.net (your Cox email address)
      Authentication: disabled

Thanks. I will give it a shot tomorrow. Ethernet over power is not working reliably right now. Gonna switch to a wireless bridge tomorrow morning. Hopefully that works.

Then I'm gonna have a whole lot of questions assuming things work. Been through the manual multiple times and some of it is a little fuzzy lets say.

Good news. Wireless bridge works much better than Ethernet over power so that's all squared away along with email alarms and web access.

With that set I am starting to program outlets. The wizards make it easy. For now I am just plugging in my heaters and ATO. The wizards make the outlet programming for the heaters easy. As for the ATO, I have a tunze so it doesn't need to be controlled, but I would like to use one of the outlets on the energy bar for now. How do I program an outlet to just leave it energized???

Change the outlet to Advanced control type. Then use this as the program:

      Fallback ON
      Set ON

Appreciated. Next question: when I am configuring the outlets on the web interface, what are the outlets labeled Varspd1, 2, etc.

Those are for the V1/V2 & V3/V4 jacks on the Apex base or the VDM. They are for controlling variable speed pumps (like Tunze electronics STREAMS) or for dimmable lighting with using 0-10 volt dimming control.

Perfect. On the web interface, is there anyway to declutter all the things not being used like the Varspd 1 display for example.

You can customize each of the 4 numbered Dashboards as desired. http://forum.neptunesystems.com/show...n-instructions

You cannot rearrange or remove outlets from the Old Status page though

Great resource. Thanks again. I am just going to keep throwing down questions as I come across them that I have not been able to find.

What is the Apex Fusion Link on the web interface and what happens when I click on link?

Disregard that for the time being. Apex Fusion isn't available to the public yet. I will definitely post here on SDR when it does open up to all. Right now it's in closed beta testing.

Copy - I clicked link and got a token address or something. I guess future growth. Either way, disregarded for the time being.

Now I just have to come with all the things to route through the controller. I will post any other questions I might have, but for now I think I am all set.

      Thanks Russ!
