      Naso's 125g upgrade

Ok I ran out of room in my stick tank. Gonna retire this thread and move all my livestock into a 125g custom lee mar that I think jt had originally.

      http://www.sdreefs.com/forums/showpost.php?p=763405

Here's the new tank after the move. Thanks to my neighbor and general awesome reefer john tylbaart for helping me break this sucker down

      It's dims are interesting. 48 x 30 x 20. What's even more interesting is the stand

Kinda dark pic, but this beautiful stand I believe was built by our late great reefer friend Larry Montgomery. Maybe jt can chime in if I got this wrong.

Stand is 48" high with a fat canopy. This makes this shallow tank visible at eye level. Tons of room in the cabinet for this monster sump

I've been cleaning for the last few days. Need to do some planning on how to hang the lights, whether to use the canopy, return pump, plumbing, and transfer logistics

Sweet John. I like the dims of the tank. Makes for good aqua scaping. That sump was for Sure built by Larry I remember him building it. Good luck.

Looks awesome , John! I LOVE the dark wood , and the taller stand Can't wait to see it up and running! Let me know if you need an extra tall rubbermaid trash can( on wheels) for the transfer, it held my fish for 2 days great..

      Naso's 125g upgrade

Moving this was challenging. We couldn't fit it in either of two vehicles. Tried to take it apart and couldn't. Almost chopped it to take off 4". I'm short it's gonna take a stepstool for me to reach inside this thing.
In the end we strapped it to the roof rack of my wife's Santa Fe. Drove home slowwww....

Could put a frag tank in that giant sump...

Jami, you and I might have to look up to see it. Or get on the stool...

It's such a beautiful canopy but I hate canopies. Really struggling with whether I use it or not. Love to reach my hands in to snap frags etc. I could put a piano hinge on that big door, but I don't know. Stand has a removable center brace, and removable doors.

LOL.. One step ahead of ya! I keep a small collapsible step stool next to my tank. I HAVE to use it to get anything close to the bottom... Thought it would bug me, but No.. I love the higher stand since I spend more time staring into the tank , than wading in it this way I won't be a hunch back crazy reefer lady! .. Just "the crazy reefer Lady"

Nice John. Now you'll have plenty of room for more sticks. The 30" of depth is gonna make a huge difference compared to the 18" from the 90 gallon.

Thx Karl, it's gonna make me change my approach to aquascape. No more piling rock up randomly.

Can't do suspended jami. Tank is in front of a north facing window. Plus the canopy is huge. Thinking I'll use light hangers from the sides of the window. Considered hanging from the ceiling, but my ceiling is so high in this room, think it would be a pain to position the two point hanging system I have right.

It's such a waste not to use it. Wish I liked canopies, maybe I'll try it and see how I like it.

One thing I'm wondering about is my light spread with my current lights. 3 ai sols and two t5s. Just a bit shy of 30" coverage, might want to throw an extra two bulbs into the mix.

Very nice John, congrats on the new tank. Can't wait to see it up and running. The offer still stands if you need a hand with anything.

You're welcome to check out my tank too while you're brainstorming! I like to see as many as possible when upgrading to incorporate the best practices from all.

This is a very nice tank, I helped JT move it. I know the sump was built by Larry but the stand was built by a fellow reefer out towards el cajon almost alpine area. I don't remember his screen name and haven't seen him active in some time.
