      RKL to RKE

I had an RKL with 2 pc4s that worked together. I bought a RKE head unit and when I plug it in, the RKE does not read any outputs on the pc4. The PC4 and the SL1 just blinks amber and blue respectively. What do I have to do?

My guess is that you have two different firmwares loaded, the RKE probably has a different firmware loaded. Dave morris is the ral expert though

And is kind of a PIA to update them, you need to buy a module from DA (Costs about $20) so that you can connect each unit to your computer then you have to download reefkeeper 2.0, then you have to join the DA forums to get to the links and instructions on how to upgrade your firmware. That being said if you follow the instructions carefully it should work fine.

Before going through the hassle of updating, simply do a factory reset via the head unit. I had this problem once where only one of my two PC4s was being seen. After a reset, everything worked fine.

You do not have to buy a SID, unless you no longer have the one that came with your system. Every RKL and RKE system is shipped with a programming SID. Euro is correct…Do a factory reset and it should correct the problem. I would still make sure that you update the firmware on each module just to make sure that it is all the latest. Here is the link to download myReef to program and update modules:
