      Moorish idol

      [IMG][/IMG]
Here's my baby, had it for two weeks now. Eating Omega red seaweed only. He's gotten a little thicker since I got him. Tried New Spectrum pellets. And he won't eat them. Chopping up some mussels now to see if he'll eat them.

I had one of these for over a year, one of my prized fish, until my undulated trigger went all predator style and picked everybody off one at a time. Mine ate everything once it got adjusted and comfortable. Started with PE mysis. Loved that stuff.

I'll try both. Thanks. Definitely my prized fish I hope he'll eat something else than just seaweed for now. I read that they do better in pairs, looking for another healthy specimen right now. Maybe a school of them.

Beautiful fish! If you are looking to get another one Encintas Tropical has 2 healthy ones right now that are eating mysis.

I have one in QT the past 2 weeks. It is definitely hard to feed. Went from eating everything to no food at all for a week. Now it's starting to nibble on mysis again. Try to get some live mysis if you can. Is the moorish idol in a fish only tank or with corals?

I have a few softies and a couple RBTA's. Won't add anymore coral until the idol is eating something else in addition to seaweed.

Found him a mate. One is still only eating seaweed nibbles on mysis but not really interested. The new one with the shorter pony tail picks at rocks only. Going to Wills to get more live brine. As each one starts to eat I'd like to add another one. I'm thinking maybe a school of 5. I have a standard 180. I think they'll be ok in there.
