I have an IceCap 660-009 that is acting up. The usual problem with these where it only fires for a second and then shuts off. I thought it was the bulbs so I spent $70 on new ones, lasted for a week and it is doing it again. I found a troubleshooting method in which to check the ohms and one of the bulbs is reading approx 30 ohms where the others are at their normal 10 ohms. This tells me that there is something wrong inside the ballast. I am pretty sure it burnt out one or two of the new bulbs (not happy about).
I found a site that repairs them, but I have also read/heard a lot of bad things about these ballasts overdriving bulbs. My main quetion for this thread is:
What is the equivelant replacement ballast for this? Is there a company that makes one?
