I like your simple DIY there Duncan, but I forgot to ask, how do you dose alk before dosing Cal?
Maybe the sepperate chambers deal w/ that?

Haven't started yet. Going through the mag I already have. I only have to dose mag every two weeks so ill probably continue to manual dose the mag.

Where do you get magnesium chloride flakes locally?

Not sure, I was given a bucket of them when I bought a skimmer off another reefer and haven't run out yet. I'll look at the label when I get home and see who makes them.

I use the recipe that calls for half mag chloride and half epson salts so they go farther.
