      Red Cyanobacteria

Is there any natural way to treat red Cyanobacteria? I got some chemiclean that I've used before and it has worked but want to try a natural to get rid of it before adding chemicals to my aquarium. Thanks

You can try turbo snails and hermit crabs. sometimes they fight it. I had a diamond watchman goby that sifted the sand pretty good and kept it from gaining ground. Check phosphate and nitrate levels, those can rise over time and through over feeding and cause an outbreak. You can also siphon it out since it forms a pretty easy to remove mat. But my best experience has always been with red slime remover from chemiclean like what you mentioned. Try to find the source though and stop that if you can. Always better to eliminate the source instead of treating the symptoms.

.Determine the reason why. Flow or phosphates (feeding to much or top of water) is a possible reason.Siphon it out. Do a water change and a 2/3 day black out can also help.
