      Algae scrubber

      Has any use Algae scrubber, I am thinking to add one and wanted to hear from folks who are using(or used) it and any experiences/issues/advices on them is appreciated! Thanks

      I made one about 3 months ago that I run in my fuge, I was fighting red algae for several weeks before hand. I started by using chemi-clean and siphoning out all the red algae I could get, did a 20% water change and fired up my scrubber, so far I haven't had any red algae at all in the main display and I'm growing some pretty algae on my scrubber using 3 75W bulbs and a screen that's 10x 12. So far so good.
      125 gallon Cube
      RKE with 2 PC4's
      50 Gallon Sump
      25 Gallon Fuge
      Full Spectrum LED lighting

      I made my scrubber using a rubber maid storage container, I mounted my lights inside the box and then painted it black (It's still un-painted in the picture) I made the screen using in the egg crate light covers and screen door screen wrapped around it. I used the lid of the container to put the screen in so light only gets to the screen and not into the fuge where I have it set up. Mine is set up as an up flow scrubber where I have a bubble wand at the bottom the screen making water flow up over
