      Won't do THAT again!

Okay, so I've always wondered what all the whining was about....threads going on about how their wives were complaining how insanely stinky their skimmate was and how she was reprimanding the hubbies and cursing them to NEVER use her kitchen sink for the rinsing of skimmers again!
I must have never had a good quality skimmer until now. Sure, skimmate's a little stinky but HOLY COW! I never knew until yesterday. I'm emptying out my container in the kitchen....and when it came to rinse out that thick junk festering at the bottom, my nostrils began to burn and my toes began to curl! My son even came down from UPSTAIRS and started yelling at his sister about how she needs to flush the toilet! The house stank for hours....I mean hours! I had to reprimand my own self (cuz I AM the wife) to never EVER use my kitchen sink for the disposal of skimmate again. Lesson learned!

I usually run hot water before I empty the skimmate out. Helps alot with the odor but if not careful u will drop n break the cup from getting burn by the hot water. Haha

      Hope that helps

Used hot water AND had a smell good going, lol! I don't know if my lungs will ever be able to expell those stinky particles. Definitely outside next time!

Hehe! Honestly, I don't think anyone in my household has ever dropped a bomb as pungent and rancid as this stuff was. My bathroom vent wouldn't be able to keep up!

I do it and suffer all the time, once a week at a min. Usually open up the window and if I have any lime or lemons I grind one of those afterwards to help.

Aside from the stand point of it smelling, there's also all kinds of bacteria in there. It is fish poop. What's that old saying about don't you know what were you eat! Well it's pretty much the same! Dump it else where!

I like the toilet idea, I'm gonna try that one. For awhile I was putting carbon in the collection cup, seemed to help the nasty aroma a bit. Wife still gets mad every time I clean in the sink

      Toilet or sink still reeks
