Depends mostly on the size and stony coral load of your tank.

It's not required. Depending who you ask you'll hear different answers. There's no one way of having a successful reef. If I remember you're starting your first reef tank, right? I would suggest not using a calcium reactor at the start. Maybe try 2 part dosing or just routine regular water changes. Down the road if you eventually have a fully stocked tank full of corals maybe then a calcium reactor would be something you would consider.
Okay, because i dont have that much space in my stand
yea i would say unless you are planning a mostly sps tank just use two part or reg water changes..
I got my ca rxtr because I couldn't keep up with the demand of ca and alk
I was dosing full baby bottles daily of b Ionic which was getting old and tiresome testing dosing testing dosing so I got a ca rxtr and I love it! Whatever is easiest for you and your reef do it
