I took advantage when they went out of stock. It was 10% off so shipped I spent about $103.

      Wholagan's Island

I decided to make some light hangers. I currently run the maxspect razor 16k 160w. I was using the "legs" that came with it but at 48" it was sagging. I'm not sure that this light is the answer so I made the hangers ready to hang a 48" fixture if I ever went back to T5's. so i had to turn them in to hang this 27" fixture. Heres what I put together.

      Wholagan's Island

So after listening to Shelly's near silent tank I'm on a mission to quiet this thing down. First up was the slurping sound the air tube from my G2 was making. I read some people use and old film canister and since I didn't have one I started searching the house. Pill cases, plastic cups. Then I found something that fit my needs.

Thank god for kids and bubbles. My pumps are still a little loud (quietone 6000 and a sedra 3500) but they are both brand new and only have about 2 weeks on them. I'll give them a couple more weeks to break in. The next thing to quiet down is the drain. I have a 2" drain that runs down 2 90 degree turns so I think if I make it more of a straight shot with maybe just 1 120 degree elbow it should help the trickling water noise. Off to Home Depot.

Oh my gosh I love that you used an old bubble bottle for that! SO cute. I'm a nanny so I got a HUGE kick out of that. x) Your tank looks so nice, I'm really loving your lights. Look forward to seeing more of this as it progresses!

What's on the top of your drain? In other words, what style is it? Most noise from a drain comes from the top.

Dave, I use a Maggie muffler on top. My first time using it as I've been a Durso guy. I have ridiculous flow and have tried cutting it down at the return but with same effect. The noise I hear is basically the water rushing down the drain at the first 90 turn. It's dead silent on top. I'm open to any help or experiences you guys can offer.
