Heres some pics I took tonight of my 10g nano. Not exactly sure on the age, but its at least 6 years old. Still cant get good pics of my two clowns.
Full tank shot

Try contacting Ben at the Chula Vista Nature Center. They are a local public aquarium that only keeps local species. If you cant get rid of any local species, try them.
I like what you've done with it. I have always thought that tank would make a good reef tank because of its size.
You dont need the miracle mud to have a succesful fuge. Some people use it, but I think most just have regular sand, which is what I used.
That looks like diatoms, not corraline algae. Its a phase in new tanks, it will pass. For fish, you will have to be careful since its a small tank. For a wrasse I would go with a sixline. You...
Its not the biozyme you are seeing. Bacteria and enzymes are microcsopic. It is probably amphipods and just a coincidence that it came after the addition of the biozyme. Just about any fish would...
I also saw this yesterday. Its not their size that bothers me, but their relative size. One should be much bigger than the other by that size. They were swimming together, but not interacting. ...
Very nice tank. What is in the middle of the gsp on the third pic down on the right?
You should probably get a smaller one. If you get a larger one, there is more of a chance that they would both be females and fight to the death. Oscellaris and perculas are a different secies, but...
I just ebaed it and found it, but I don't know if its a good price or the appropriate amount....
Thanks for the link, I was looking at newegg for more ram. Ninh, have you installed vista? I have heard it works fine. I have xp on mine for ms access and arcgis.
I have the basic 1.83 ghz and I havent had any problems at all. I havent heard any mooing or whining. It is hotter than my old iBook that it replaces, but not outrageously imo. All of my keys are...
I've had mine for about a week and its awesome. Which one did you get?
Here is my 3 year old 10g nano.
Here is some more detailed info on Scripps water from Fisheries, the building just north of Scripps. They have experimental aquariums that also use Scripps water....
Its actually botryocladia, not valonia. I havent had any luck with emerald crabs on mine, but it seems to come and go on its own. It hasnt been as invasive as valonia in my tank, generally sticking...
I just got this in an email from school (USD) about the change to chlorine. It says they will be dosing 2.5-3 mg/L.
The City of San Diego Water Department has informed the University of a change...
How did you find out about this? What area will it cover?
I chose <$10 for a couple reasons. The biggest one is its a small tank, 10g. I dont have a filter, just a fuge which doesnt use any supplies. I only occasionally test for calcium and alk, nothing...
I have heard that the only truely reef safe ones are from the genus Genicanthus , as they are planktivores.
Euphyllias shoudl be okay if they touch. I would try to make sure they dont touch other corals though.
I think it was normal hours. I didnt pay to much attention because I wasnt going late in the day.
Yes, I called earleir today.
Garibaldi are protected here in California, but they can be collected in Mexico and then imported. As a cooler water fish, they wouldn't do too well in a higher temperature tank.
