Tank is clearing up!
First, a follow up on seeing the tang through the haze...

Looking good! I like the dark acans, cool color.
Updates!
Hooked up a 10gal sump to get me by. Power-outage tested it a few times for flooding and everything seems good. It's very ghetto-rigged at the moment but maybe I'll take a picture tonight...
Chaoti are awesome! But soooooo pricey, and I've never heard of them lasting very long. Very nice though, definitely a pipe dream for me =).
I'm curious on your ratings! I'm a big leopard wrasse fan. Which types are at the top of the list?
Funny you mention that, because I have a black leopard as well that will be sharing the tank....
I have had her for about... 3 months or so. Not all that long, and signs are difficult with leopards, but everything looks good so far. My pics aren't the greatest, but you can get an idea of her:

With the run-off I will be adding a 40-ish gallon sump so hopefully that has enough size to catch it all. I have a 10gal sitting under it now to catch any splash but it is definitely temporary.

Got the tank full last night, water is still very murky, but you can see the tang!

Should have the sump running by tonight, have...
Agreed, very cool. Good idea, tank's looking good.
All nice pics!
I made some more improvements:
Skirted with with 2x6's, as well as reworked the joist system a bit.

Put the top back on:...
Ok, took a closer look, I see why you recommend it. Would have been good to include that style even with my extra supports. I plan to add a few more tomorrow before dropping the tank on it, thanks...
Yea I've seen DIY guides like this but the 6' x 3' footprint made me nervous with no middle columns. I also checked a few "type in your dim's and we'll show you your build" sites but my tank is too...
Sytrofoam insulation? Can I find that at a Home Depot or something similar? Is it just regular styro? Haven't heard of doing this, makes sense though for sure.
I'm going to fit a 36"L x 14"W x...
Makes sense.
The sugar is a sucrose gel I believe. Will double-check on Monday.
Hi all, just started building this today and thought it would be fun to track in the forum. Any comments/suggestions are appreciated!
I picked up a 240gal acrylic w/ center overflow a while back,...
Looking good, quick progress.
Ok I was just a bit off. The extra ingredient is just sugar, not a M08-something. That is apparently the term for this additive, also called merger vodka.
Hi All,
I have yet to vodka-dose my system(s), but something in our favorite article caught my attention:

I work for a distilled...
Or maybe a little male filamented flasher wrasse? They're cute, small, and should feel in-charge and flashy in a tank with hiders.
Oh no! Looked awesome.
Nice pics!!
I actually moved out of the area just recently, and yea finding dive partners is difficult. I wanted to say "well at least on land it's cheaper" but I really don't think that's the case, lol. I think...
I was recently SCUBA certified and this caught my attention. Not anything too spectacular in terms of info but useful for starting out. If you're creative it might apply a bit to home systems in...
