I would put it in a healthy system with a consistent bio load for a while (sump?) so the good bacteria can have a chance to populate the new clean tonga branch which has had most of the bacteria die...
This comes up from time to time and I think there's an easier way.
I would never EVER trust a check valve...even if the valve is working correctly?... ever see how quick those little Calcareous...
Gotta love that... Mom buying you a kenya tree... priceless.
The ATS specs recommend 35 gal/hr per inch of screen width.
If your screen is 8" wide you need 280 gal/hr.
You might consult the ATS website to see if those specs have changed but my experience is...
Looks great!
Watch that flow! It looks weak? Be sure to measure how much is flowing on the screen... The first way it can under perform is with too little flow! The growth will be slow and weak.

I've had zoa's close up for a long time and come back fine.
My bet is they will be OK unless that heater pack was an issue?
Wow that's a lot going on... wish you would have shared that info up front... lol

I think this difference, multiple colors vs: one explains your experience best.
Also most t-5 bulbs have a broader spectrum than a comparable color LED.
Also if my memory serves me correct there...
What t-5s did you have? How many tubes? 4, 6, or 8 and what colors?
I would bet you are missing spectrum? I think they probably have enough PAR.
The clams probably need the most light and they...
If everything is doing OK now with T-5s... what bulbs are you using?
I've noticed that many reefers use a pink/purple T-5 with the usual actinic blue with very good results.
Great question but...
You could probably over do it with LEDs
Also blue light is more powerful than white light, notice the blue spike in any spectral graph of light.
If they were over 600 PAR some corals would not like...
I think the worst was the time I had the top off water sitting on top of the TV next to the tank with the drip line running above and into the HOB filter (above water line).
When I started the top...

I made one of these based on a DIY thread and it worked but just like trying to remove them any other way you have suck/siphon out the tissue or they can reproduce like crazy.
One thing I noticed...
+1 ^^^^^ kjmagnetics... I just purchased some from them that have the epoxy coating. They have lots of sizes and prices. $1-$2 each.
A word of caution about the epoxy coating... they send out a...
