Tried it in the past if I were you I'd return it. Honestly think that just some small pieces of live rock in the bottom of your refugium would be better.

they are right but i'm a low maintenance type of reefer and constantly buying pods is out of question for me but its your money.

imo dont buy them unless u have 100 gallon tank and its well established ive seen people do it with ur size tank but its more often a failure than success.

I agree DIY is the way to go but I'm not that handy.
