I've had both CC and sand. With CC I had alot of pods and at least 2 different kinds of bristle worm. The down side was the filth deep down in the CC that was a potential killer. No amount of water...

Found some dark blue 7 gallon water carriers with nice caps that have reversable faucets in them. Containers have a nice wide square footprint.
