Many ways to do it like mentioned above.
I like to put eggcrate on the bottom so no jagged rocks are digging in to the glass or acrylic, or causing pressure points. Its also a good thing to put...
I'm assuming its glass. The proper fix would be to empty the tank, strip out the old silicon, reapply new silicone. Any other way of fixing it is just a temporary fix. Doesn't take very long to do....

Check out the Epistar LED fixtures Dom_Michael sells at Goldfish World. You would only need two of these fixtures for your tank. Pretty quiet and not too warm...
IME 7-10 days is the usual cycle process, but have seen it happen in 5 days. Its possible that if AquaSD hadn't put any new live rock in that week, that the current live rock may have cycled already...
