Hello all,
I will post new pics of my tank soon. I took out mechanical filtration, added a skimmer, still have a deep sand bed (7 years old now) and the ecosystem of the tank seems to be very happy now. Tons and tons of pods crawling all over. The tank went through a period of neglect and lots of corals died. Only GSP and some green palys survived. My fish died from lotion contamination. I started to be more diligent with the tank about 9 months ago and it has really paid off, so I started slowly adding corals and they all have done well so far. I haven't added fish yet, I am enjoying the corals for now.

Ok, here are some pictures I took today. The only things that survived the crash were the green palys and the GSP. Even my xenia died!! Everything you see here is pretty new. The bird's nest is growing like crazy, super fast.
