My 300g to 120g Upgrade
Well, thanks to the fine folks at AquaSD, i now have my new 120g Leemar tank. It is a 48" x 24" footprint and the tank is 26" high. Eurobraced with a Calfo external overflow. It is a great size tank for aquascaping. Next step will be building my stand which I hope to start on in the next week or so. Should be fun....

Beautiful tank Dave. Love that external overflow.

Nice tank....love the puppy inside the tank too lol.

This build is going to take a while. I am going to make sure that every element is exactly the way I want it. I am going for the ultra clean, sexy layout of plumbing and electrical. I want the equipment side of things to be as impressive as the tank itself. That is why the build may take a while. I should have the initial stand built in a week or two. It will actually be built by someone else, but I will do the painting and sealing on it. Once I see the stand, I will come up with a sump layout that will fit the stand perfect. So like I said...one step at a time. Stay tuned....

I attached the bottom today and I will probably attach the top tomorrow. I sealed the bottom so it won't leak and tomorrow I will start painting it. Couple coats of Kilz, couple coats of white, and a couple coats of urethane. The three holes in the top are where the three 1.5" drain lines will go for the Bean Animal drain I am going to run. This drain system should be completely silent, an important part of this build to keep the family happy. :)
I still need to get a sump built and get a few items such as my return pump, skimmer, BP reactor, etc. I'm probably going to end up using a couple MP40's for in tank flow. I hate powerbeads, but I don't have much choice. My travel schedule for the next couple of months is going to make progress a little slow, but thats OK. Stay tuned for more....

Nice dave cant wait to see finished product

I got the first coat of Kilz on the stand today. I'll probably do another coat of Kilz and then white paint and a couple coats of urethane. Hopefully when I'm at MACNA next weekend I'll win a skimmer, (2) MP40 powerbeads, and a return pump. :)
