!v@n's 100g Rimless Build
Well several years ago I purchased a Cadlights 100g rimless. It's been stored and I'm now ready to get it going. I designed and will be fabricating my own stand out of steel, and will also be modifying the original glass sump it came with. Here are a few 3D models I made of the stand and the sump. I have my own cnc router so I get to cut the acrylic for my sump myself.

Well finally got to make progress on my build. I finished tacking the stand together today. I hope to finish welding it over the weekend.

If you plan on opening the blinds at all I’d paint it black if not clear would be sick
Do you think opening the blinds sometimes would cause algae problems?

So I’m going through different ideas for skinning the stand. And thought maybe I should make it match the media console/desk I designed and built, and use usb for the panels to match. What do you guys think??
I applied several coats of polyurethane to the OSB and it looks great and is pretty smooth.
I like the industrial look of it

Today I made the adapters to mount my lights. I have a pair of AI Sol I’m gonna be using on the tank. I didn’t really like any of the available mounting solutions so I decided to make my own, kind of. I had seen someone on another forum use a computer monitor mounting arm to mount a light over his tank so I ran with that idea and am gonna use a dual monitor arm. I had to make adapters to mount the lights to the standard 100x100mm monitor mounts. Here’s what I came up with. I used a sheet of .090 aluminum and cut it out on my cnc to shape, then bent it to its final shape. I’ll be painting them satin black to match the mount. I think it will be a nice solution and allow me to move the lights back whenever I need to reach in the tank. (The light is taken apart in the picture. I used only the heat sink to get all my dimensions and for mock up)
