Dealing with STN?
I'm getting some STN at the base of one of my favorite acros. Its pretty slow and likely related to my recent tank upgrade. In doing WC, but it's still creeping at the base. Its only happening to one acro out of like 15 in the tank. Is it best to chop the colony, or hope that it stops? Dipping will probably just stress it out. Maybe try super gluing the base or frag it up

I also like to use super glue to cover any dead skeleton. In my experience when I did nothing it more often then not continues to spread across the colony. Good luck!

Frag and glue and hope you can get it after the infection. Any idea if your water is stable? I've also done antibiotic treatments that I feel help if it is an infection

Probably not super stable. Also, I replaced the tank two weeks ago, changed the lights from T5 to T5+LED, replaced the skimmer and return pump and added a MP40. So theres that. It seems like it's just one acros that's angry. I might just cut it off its base and see if the STN stops.

Kind of curious to see what you did? I recently went through a similar situation...tank updgrade...everything fine until it wasnt. I lost the battle unfortunatetly. Kinda slowly "rebooting" the whole system.

I ended up fragging the affected piece. All the frags look happy and the stn on original base seems have stopped.
