Plumbing recommendations
Wanted to see your guys' thoughts on the best way to plumb a tank that is drilled on the bottom but does not have an overflow.
I can make an overflow (see one of my previous DIY projects) but wondering what kind of different ways you guys setup your tanks. Plus what you guys think is a bad idea.
My tank currently only has one hole drilled on the bottom...towards one of the corners but not necessarily at the corner....if that makes sense. (It's not centered)

I would drill another hole for a return and then build an overflow around it. I like the cleaner look.

An overflow would be nice and clean, and not too difficult to build.
I've seen some plumbing setups that don't have a seperate chamber/overflow. Basically its a drain pipe with a silencer type end or screen to prevent fish from entering the pipe. It takes up less space but you will see the piping...but if you cover with rocks it might not look too bad. Just brainstorming. :)
The return should not be an issue.

An overflow would allow for surface skimming of the tank. You could drill another hole and have a main drain and emergency drain and then just run the return over the top of the tank. Or have a drain and return. Or drill two holes, one more on the bottom acting as an emergency drain and another hole on the back wall for return, you can choose to hide the return on back wall behind the overflow or drill on the opposite side. Durso or herbie. Just some ideas
