Is this going on you 50 Duke?
I was thinking about trying it out guess I'll wait for your review lol.
Just today I thought about getting one because my overflow on my tank is a trapezoid and there in not enough room to put MP40 on eight side of the trapezoid. I was thinking of getting one gyre and putting in the middle of the trapezoid and letting it be the sole pump for flow across my 60" peninsula.
here is a great review done recently this is in a 80g tank check it out

Finally got this thing installed... Bad ass little pump... Perfect for a cube... I have it about a 1/3 of the way down from the water line... Corals love it
I just returned mine yesterday after realizing I cant program it to slow down at night automatically.
I use a WP-40 to do it but I know what you mean. The pumps flow was amazing. I just wish the controller was better is all.
I set it to shut off with my apex
I thought about doing that too but I have my pumps on the Apex variable speed so that the current changes throughout the day. They also flush twice a day. I guess after having an Apex for so long I just didn't want to go back to a single flow pattern. I'm sure Maxspect, or someone in the community, will figure out a way to integrate with the Apex to allow variable speeds and programming. I figure I'll buy it again when that happens. Like I said, the pump is hands down the best flow pattern I have ever used and I've had MP's, Tunze Streams, and WP's. I just couldn't get over not being able to control it from an Apex, or any controller, like I can with other pumps.
Any update? I'm thinking about picking a xf130 up
