Refugium question

Hey guys I build a refugium from scratch and have one compartment that I don't know what to do with. I have a video on youtube showing it, if you can take a look and give me some suggestion on how to make it useful or leave as is.

Nice Sump. I would say leave as you have it now. Use that area for heaters, controller probes, dosing lines, whatever else may come. If it were me I would put your skimmer there and the place where your skimmer is I would use a previously discussed. Skimmer should be the last stop before returning to the tank IMO.

That sounds like a great idea to put skimmer last. What about throwing some LR ruble into 1st and 2nd compartment.

I think you have plenty of room in the large section for LR where you already have macro. If it were me I would use that area like I said for heaters, probes, dose lines, etc. If you are not going that route with equipment then you could throw some mud in there and grow mangroves... either way make sure you have your lights on your refugium opposite that off your tank.

I'd say run some reactors and use that space for the pump or pumps.

So I decided to put skimmer in the chamber and put gfo reactor in the second. Probes can go anywhere. Thanks guys.

Following along.. I have a 2 chamber sump and have added a DIY fuge w eggcrate.. I was thinking that skimmer before fuge, to protect the pod population etc.. Do I have it wrong? Maybe I am starving the fuge with the skimmer before it?

Skimmer last. Cleanest water possible to the display tank. Don't worry about the pod population. They will go through pumps no problem for the most part. Having your skimmer last will allow more nutrients through your in sump fuge. Whatever the fuge doesn't take out the skimmer will for the most part.
