So I'm going to go down the road of obtaining a Scarus Quoyi in a dominant SPS system. Anybody have experience with keeping one? Do's or don'ts I should be aware of?
Appreciate anyone's take who has kept one!

No experience but I’ve read a lot about them. Tend to be heavy eaters and last about a year or two befor losing colors and slowly dying. I think with a big tank and lots of feeding you could keep one for a little while. They do have a large beak and graze so lps may be the first targets if algae isn’t available sps may be collateral in a grazing attempt in a tight spot but Ide say the consensus is overall reef safe
You’re braver than I am. People say cooperbands and aptasia eating file fish are reef safe, it we’ve all heard stories about those going rogue. Even some tangs eat LPS, so I guess you never really know.
I've been on the fence for quite sometime. I saw one at a fellow reefers house recently who has been very successful with his. That pretty much pushed me into getting one. I think my real worry is getting that rogue fish, like you mentioned.

Awesome, I’m curious to see how this goes. I hadn’t heard of this species before your post.
How’s his eye is it just the photo
