Looks like manzanita, most common for FW and or planted tanks.
If it's new you may want to soak it in hot water for a few days to bleed off the tanin's, otherwise your water will turn orange/yellow, harmless, but not pretty.

Hmm. I have manzanita in my other tank that I got from my back yard and it is a completely different color. I'll post a picture in a moment

Different color and it looks like a different structure as well. The first piece is more knotty and twisted. Maybe it's manzanita root?

I've seen them different colors like that, not sure what makes them different, and it will probably look different wet too.
Maybe roots could look different.

I don't know the name of wood but u can find in almost any pet store for fw fish or reptiles it's called drift wood. U can also find near beaches. When I kept reptiles I would get at imperial beach sand it down to desired finish then bake in oven for any type of pest
