Walked over to the tank to check on it and what did I see? My clown hovering around her anemone, the cleaner shrimp right below that, and a bunch of hermits.

Hmmm, waitaminit! The shrimp's antennae aren't moving and those hermits look aweful close.

Stare a few seconds to make sure...

Yup, the cleaner shrimp's dead. What's worse: I don't know *** happened 'cause the shrimp was out doing what shrimp do just this AM. Between 0900 and now, SOMETHING happened...

Was it the hawkfish in the left side of the tank?
Was it the LMB in the center?
The royal gramma in the right?

We'll never know...

I'm bummed!

Nope. No molting here! I took the body out of the greedy claws of my hermits.

Yeah, they were doing their job, I just didn't want to give them a raise...

it wasnt the hawk you got from me i hope. how is he doing by the way. also i guess your probably the best person to ask. with the macro i got what does the new groth look like. on the leafy type macro there is alot of there brownish stringy fiber like growths coming out of the stalks. is the normal growth that will end up looking like the rest or am i killing the macro?

shrimp doesn't do well when the water salinity keeps changing. their skin layer obsorbs the water and runs throughout their body. so with a lil change in the salinity, it could effect the shrimp's body. i think that might be the problem coz that's what happened to me once.

Yeah, it was "your" hawk that's the prime suspect. Other than upsetting the sensibilities by being a little more aggressive than I'd like, he's doing great.

I'd have to see the stuff, but so far, it don't sound good... Generally, that stuff has light green ends when its growing. Brown=bad.

alright i got some pics of the maco the first 3 are of the brown stuff it appears to be attached to the macro and growing form it. the 4th picture is my lighting it is a 75 watt bulb. it is pretty close to the macro. do you think it maybe getting to much light. the water parameters of my tank are good, my calcium is a little high and i have been slowly increasing alk to help get the CA down, but i cant imagine that hurting the macro. ant help would be much appreciated as i dont want to kill off the macro or cause somthing else to bloom in the tank.
