I have always kept fresh water fish in the past for many years. I went through a period of time where I kept no fish at all. I missed being able to sit in front of a tank and get lost in it. I have always been captivated and in tranced by saltwater tanks in restaurants and at the local aquarium. A year and a half ago was when my journey into the world of saltwater and reef keeping began. With help from online communities and reputable LFS's I have come a long way and continue to look for better ways to run my system and continue to gain knowledge about this highly addicting hobby.

Thanks a lot. This was my first post. Still trying to figure out the SDReefs' prefered way of posting pictures.

The best way to post pictures is to use a photo hosting site such as photobucket. Copy and paste the img code and that's it.

Sorry for the delayed response and thank you for complement. My tank is 48"Lx15"Wx17"H. I'm running a 4 bulb AquaticLife T5 fixture and have a Trigger Systems sump 30"Lx12"Wx15H" with an AquaC EV-180 skimmer w/ Mag 9.5. Also, the sump has a refugium with a 4" DSB (2" sand & 2" of Miracle Mud) and cheatomorpha macro algae and some LR. Since my last post on here I have removed the shallow sand bed in my display and replaced it with a 4" DSB and redid the rock work because I wasn't happy with the tank being so crammed full of LR. I wanted more of an open rock scape to allow for better water movement and room for the fish to swim. Also, got some sad news. My mystery committed suicide today :(.

Great looking Tank! Welcome to the boards

Elias thank you for taking the time to welcome me to SDReefs and for the complement. My tank is still a work in progress.

I served in the military for 9 years. Good to see some fellow military here.

Will do, many more pictures to follow and thank you for the complement. The tank is going through some major changes at this time. This is going to be a good opportunity to document in detail what happens. I've got a channel on a website where I've posted videos since starting up the tank. If you want the link I can send it your way. I'm not sure what the rules are for posting links to other sites here. I might start thread covering this tank.

Yeah, nice meeting you as well. Thanks the tank is coming along nicely. That was pretty cool of you guys setting up that day. I just wish I could have been there sooner to see the fragging demonstation. How'd that go?

Thanks Brian. I will definitely set up a thread. Can I post videos here? Most of my tank's journal is video.
