The team is good very good actually, but their all human beings that make mistakes also, I wouldn't be sad if norv or aj got fired but I don't really think its the only problem, We really missed McNeil! Etc, when the team is on there really on and it's really fun and exciting to watch, its a bummer when they lose but it's just a game, I personally really don't understand why ppl talk smack to each other over it so much it's ridiculous, there is still plenty of time left in the season go Chargers this is one fan that's not giving up on you all!!. The raiders just played better.

Once we get Mathews back we'll be in a much better standing. It was a hard blow to the team to loose Vincent Jackson in the off season (another great player lost, and I would like to place the blame on Norv Turner). As long as Rivers, Mathews, Floyd and Gates stay healthy our offense should be able to do good things. As long as Garay, Phillips and Weddle stay healthy we will be good for defense. Our problem has always been key injuries (Gates) or bad coaching (Norv). What's going to make this year so tough is definitely the schedule, but more importantly the Broncos signing Peyton Manning. If he's able to fine tune his offense early on in the season than we're in for some trouble. The Broncos have one of the best defenses in the league and if Manning matches that offense to it theyre easily a Super Bowl team. Just look at how far they got with Tebow last season, and he doesn't even know how to read a defense.

We shouldn't have any problems beating the Raiders or the Chiefs in the regular season, theyre just not good teams. As for the rest of the AFC...There's some steep competition. My conclusion is that we have a losing season, Norv Turner gets fired, and next season we have a real shot (barring we don't lose more key players in the off season).

The Chargers have a horrible habit of going into cruise control mode when they have a big lead. It cost them last week against the Saints and again this week against the Broncos. They blew a 17 point lead and a 24 point lead in back to back weeks... They usually say the attitude problems start at the top...

If we can lose to the Browns, we can lose to anyone. The Donkeys were lighting up the Saints. It's pretty obvious who's winning the division. If they don't can Norv and AJ after this disaster of a season they never will. It's so frustrating. I perfect example of how predictable they've become came on the 1st drive on the 4th and one. They brought in Battle and ran it up the middle. I knew it, the Browns knew it and the 11,000 Browns fans at the game knew it was coming. Norv is no longer the offensive genius he was made out to be.

Dean Spanos, just find any high school football coach to replace Norv...It would not be much of a drop off in play calling efficiency...Save the coaching money for the move out of San Diego...Thank you for some great players you had in Seau and LT during my time...

They are going to find themselves in an unfortunate catch-22. They won't be able to make money here because of blacked out games since nobody's gonna go watch them and in turn we will never approve a new stadium for them. And since they suck so bad no city, LA or otherwise, is going to want them if they intend to move. Most of the people that are "fans" have been crying for them to can Norv for years now. They are idots if they think they don't need to listen to their customers. No wonder they can't sell out games.

i know it sounds ludicrous, but if we assume that miami, which has 2 games against the patriots yet to be played, loses one more game, and we win out, then we are in the playoffs. yes, even at 4-7 we control our destiny (i say that because miami losing at least one out of two games against the pats is a mortal lock). every other contender in the afc has at least 5 conference losses (the 2nd tie breaker after head to head) and we have 4. so we win all ties. plus pittsburgh and cinci play us, AND most importantly -- they play each other. which means that we will be tied with one of them if we win out. so as long as we win 5 straight (i know, we do suck in the 4th quarter so bad that i wonder if we will ever win a game again) we're in, barring a miami miracle. so it's no time to start rooting for draft picks yet. we're actually in pretty good shape, considering our record. ok, i just needed to say that, let the flaming commense

Even if we make the playoffs, which won't happen, we won't go anywhere. The Chargers haven't beaten a team with a .500 or better record all year. We still have to play the Bengals, Steelers, Panthers, Jets, and the Raiders. I realistically only see them beating the Jets and the Raiders. I think they can beat the Panthers but who knows. Like Jessie said, if we do win out, that just may save Norv or AJ's job. While I don't mind seeing Norv stick around, I definitely don't want AJ to stay. We all blame Norv but it's AJ that's destroyed this team. He's let so many great players leave or has forced them out with his arrogance. Norv took over this team when it was stacked. Since then, players like Sproles and Vincent Jackson have left. There are others as well. You can't blame Norv for not having enough talent on the field to work with. When he had a good team on the field, the Chargers were in the playoffs. Each year you saw key players leave and they got worse each year. He has become a bit predictable but I think that has a lot to due with the players he has. The defense is pretty good but please move Jammer to safety and bring in a CB that can keep up with the young fast WR's. They also need to rebuild the offensive line. I still believe Rivers is a good QB. He just needs time in the pocket to make things happen. I also believe you'll see more production out of Matthews with a solid oline. His fumble issues seem to have stopped. I think the most frustrating thing about it all is that we as fans can see what the issues are and the team doesn't do anything to fix them. AJ has never spent a high draft pick on the oline. He's taken mainly defensive players and of course a RB. I guess it's more of wait till next year.

I applaud all you Charger Fans. I have been doing a ton of driving this week and thus have listened to hours of Charger Radio and opinions....all I can say is Yikes, what a mess. Shocking to see people still doing math to see if they can make the playoffs. Not good for the future with the upcoming blackouts. If you have the RedZone Channel you can at least see the key plays. Last week the RZ channel had only three afternoon games and broadcast almost half the game. Sad to watch, like a car accident you keep looking. Saw someone drop Gates off their fantasy team yesterday...is he hurt? Sure all the TE's will be blocking along with the backs with that OL. Should be interesting over the next few weeks for sure...

Looks like the egotistical Acee was right. Spanos said when he brought Norv and AJ back that getting to the playoffs, and winning, was the only acceptable path for this team. He even said that if that didn't happen changes were coming. It was obvious many weeks ago they weren't going anywhere. Yeah they weren't eliminated mathematically but it was obvious to everyone if they some how got in, they wouldn't beat anyone. They won one game all year to a team with a .500 or better record. After that, they got destroyed by the Panthers. All we can hope for now is a couple of wise decisions when it comes to a new coach and GM.

I think if he had scored a touchdown the game would have been over so it wouldn't have mattered if he took his helmet off to celebrate. It's like at the end if the game when the chiefs qb threw it while past the line of scrimmage... They threw a flag, but picked it up because the game was over and it didn't matter anymore... Haven't been able to do that for about 30 years. It was awesome, just had to take it easy on the high fives! Hope they win it all for him. The first game I went to with him as a kid was at balboa stadium.

Have to hand it to them, that was a good well played game. Of all the teams the Broncos could've faced next I knew the chargers would be the most exciting game if it happened. I'm glad this is coming down to a division foe even though Indy would've been nice as well. Game should be closer than the odds are saying. It will be a tough hard taught win for either team.

If the Chargers have a Belichick type of coach, they would have won this game and as well as many games they lost and more (Super Bowl)...

Having said that, McCoy definitely an upgrade over Norv but nowhere near what New England has in head coach...And I hope he can learn from this mistake and changing things around when needed in future...Don't forget Belichick was once a failed head coach for Cleveland Browns...

McCoy and company can use a few more real players to offset their game plan mistakes like today...
And if they continue to play Padre-esque management and get rid of proven talent to replace garbage "potential" talent, they will be back to square one again.

I hope they can do better this year. Not off to a good start. I am still standing behind our team. They might play better if they had a bad ass stadium like Dallas, or if they spent some money on new talent.

What impressed me was how the defense brought pass rush when needed!
And yes, if Rivers moves around like that, it can only help the team to win against great defenses...
Gates shown he can still be a threat and that would open up more for Keenan Allen/Floyd/Royal...
Mathews...Not sure being labeled now as "injury prone" and "fumbling Queen" is a good thing for a starting tailback...Time to find his replacement and keeping the RBs by committee more effective...

As far as Ryan goes they still have woodhead and Donald brown, so I don't think they are hurting, maybe promote somebody off the practice squad for some depth but should most likely just see more of those two guys... They blew a 17 point lead and a 24 point lead in back to back weeks... They usually say the attitude problems start at the top... so true and really a tough team to watch. The miserable refing of the game was amazing, the missed out of bounds first late hit on Rivers was a really poor missed call than the out of bounds touchdown, on the positive I did see a couple missed holds that worked in our favor as well that negated the poor calls but the refs were a pretty poor group along with the automatic review board that missed an easy call.

Don't forget during the final minute and something when the 'Hags were out of time outs and Pete Carroll called for one...No penalty called for that as it should be one and then the clock also stop...

Not a lack of confidence, if Pats and Broncos each manage to win out the Pats win since the Broncos already lost to them. That's just the hard truth. Broncos need them to lose one more to erase that 1/2 game lead and the Chargers are the most likely team to hand them that loss I think.

True, Denver has to do what they can to make sure they make it to the playoffs. Everything after that is luck. It's looking like both Denver and San Diego will be in it again this year though, if Denver can't be the number 1 seed I would rather see that go to San Diego. Another playoff like game that the Chargers lost when the QB is less than average and defense played their heart out...
Say what you say about "lack of pass protection", but an elite or Super Bowl QB such as Aaron Rodgers would have shredded that Pats "JJ Watts ish" defense still...

Only few good things are they still holding a spot in wild card playoff and Peyton Manning they are facing all the sudden looking like an aging QB...
The bad things are the Donks running the ball quite well and their defense is probably better than the Pats...

That's vintage Rivers right there...

He is basically a 1 trick pony and can only throw beautiful deep balls when both feet on the ground with Fort Knox pass protection and such...
He can only win certain games and help push his team to playoffs at best....Entertaining at times one a few comback wins against teams that weren't all that good...
And he keeps his fanboys thinking of "what would it be like if Rivers have an All-pro offensive line so he can shred defenses"...

Unfortunately, for a SB winning type of QB, they need a 3 trick pony...Poise in pocket, mobility to frustrate aggressive pass rush for 1st down conversions/extend plays, and arm strong enough to throw off balance...
