Is the only way these can be placed over an aquarium is by hanging, or do they come with legs too?

AquaticLifeTropicals

For now it will only be hanging. However we should have optional legs sometime soon.

How much for the LED strips?

I like how you are showing these lights compared to 250 and 300w. Instead of 400w+ like others.

I have seen others for sale here are look like the same black ones up top for $225 and 2 year warranty

His also comes with 2 years and these are sold from an actual shop. Not a garage or bedroom. Also his are 127w instead of 120 for the higher priced model one with dimming features. The only one that is "similar" is the cheapest one.

They depend on size. All strips are Aquaticlife expendables. $150 on a 48" strip...comes in either mixed blue and white or solid blue.

Honesty is definitely the best policy on that one! We really shouldn't compare LED's to the larger metal halides for coverage. LED lighting is in fact brighter... however, we lack the extreme coverage of some of the larger metal halides. Thus, I feel we should compare them to there closest counterparts accordingly. Thanks for noticing!

We have LED lighting for corals only right now. Not sure about the proper spectrum for plant growth.... however, I would assume something more around pure 10K / 7500K.

How many fixtures would I need for a 100 gallon 60X18X20?

AquaticLifeTropicals
01-13-2012, 06:49 PM
No problem, will let you know.

A 100g tank.... depends on the type of coral. 2 of them would be sufficient for many applications (SPS under the vicinity of lights and softies/LPS around the fixtures.)

Or, if you don't want to be forced into placing coral in based on location of lighting.... you can get 3 of them.
