About 8 months ago I started running EcoBak pellets in my 80 gallon reef. I was very impressed with the way my corals and how theyve been doing post the introduction of the pellets. I read about how a lot of people believe the output of the reactor should be directly into the skimmer pump, and how others believe it should be in the area of the skimmer pump. So I tried both. Ive noticed since I moved it away from the pump my tank hasn't been doing nearly as well. So I decided to adopt this mod from Melev on Reefaddicts.com. http://www.reefaddicts.com/entry.php/1612-Biopellets-Skimmer-modification-complete

What you'll need:
one 1" T fitting
one 1" cap
3/4" bit for drilling the hole in the cap (my tube was 5/8 so a 3/4" hole was needed)
A dremel tool

Basically I followed his instructions and this is what I came up with. Just a fun and cheap little DIY project that took about 10 minutes. Really looks much much better then my previous zip tie method that always slid around when I was working in the sump. Best part is its completely removable for when I want to sell the skimmer.

I did something very similar. If the air intake piece starts to fall from the T, just zip tie the aerator intake to the bottom of the T (the outlet perpendicular to the other two outlets). In mine, the vibration from the skimmer pump caused it to work itself loose. I didn't want to glue it and make it permanent. The zip tie works great.
