flattening out a plate coral

i got a cool plate coral from OG yesterday but it looks a little like a pringles chip
is there any way to flaten it out?
put it on a flat tile in the tank for a while?

Just put a mallet to it..........jk

If the skelton is deformed (as I am assuming it is) it could flatten out is it builds itself more........
