If your interested, post here. I have no idea how to do one, but if there is enough interest, maybe someone on the board does.

Maybe I have pie in the sky dreams...

As long as your iPhone already had web access, you already have access. What value would an app. add? It would be cool though.

True, but you could have stuff like popup notification for PM's, easier interface for checking out the forum.. Maybe an enhancement for tracking water test results.

I guess I was thinking of something like the Reefs App that Manhattan Reefs has. Seems to have good reviews from their users and I can't imagine it being all that hard to create.

Maybe the community is too small for an App. Would still be nice to have.

Also, I am not mistaken. You have to buy that App. I am sure it brings in some revenue to support the forum too.

I'd be interested in working with someone to develop the app if there is enough interest. I've actually had a similar idea "something larger" but targeting a smaller group like sdreefs would be a great place to start. I have experience designing and building apps and I am a registered apple developer. Are there any developers here on this forum that know Objective-C really well? I know my way around x-code and I am UX designer by day but I would really like to connect with a strong developer to partner with on this and other projects.

Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested in discussing.

No need to reinvent the proverbial wheel.... TapaTalk is a great app (for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry), and is already in use on many reefkeeping forums.... ReefCentral, Reef2Reef, SeaReef, ReefDiscussion/SocaliReefs, just to name a few. One app, multiple forums.

What we need to do is convince (coerce might be the better term) the system administrator to upgrade the forum software (direly overdue!) and then install the free TapaTalk plug-in.

SD Reefs is currently running vBulletin v3.6. TapaTalk requires v3.7 or newer. It costs $195 to upgrade to the latest version (v4.0), plus the necessary effort. The TapaTalk plug-in is free.

Hopefully there will be an Android version as well. =)

A recent survey conducted by Nielsen confirms that 43% of all U.S. smartphone owners have an Android device. Meanwhile, Apple iOS remains popular in second place with 28% of all smartphone users

Is there any other way? It already runs on my HTC Flyer just fine...
