desjardinii sailfin tang (if size allows). for smaller tanks i would have to say a neon goby.

Why?
well for the tang,

need i say more?

i would pick the goby for its personality, beautiful bright color and there cleaning service.

I second the neon goby...mine always lands on my hand when I put it in the tank. He's got a giant beer belly too because between feedings (for my other fish), he snacks on pods all day.

I like my Bangaii cardinals. They float around nicely until I put food in the tank, then they ATTACK!!! They are fast and furious eaters, but other than that they are very peaceful, but not reclusive.

I have to fals percs, 6 line, sailfin tang (the regular one) and a royal grama.

I was thinking about getting a pair of neon gobies, and one or two cardinals.

Any other cool fish i should look at?

Mandarin Dragonet, by far the coolest reef fish, but tuff to keep.

Fire Fish are cool and cheap. also nice to others.

If you want a group of fish go with about 3-4 blue reef chromis. they are really cheap and they are always out in the open and they stick together. sort of fun to watch.

Another great reef safe fish is a juvenile great white, but i would suggest that you have atleast a 29 gallon tank that is well established.

Yes you can take him surfing when he out grows the tank, how ever I would do a 1 hour drip acclimation when you take him down to the beach as there could be a temperature diff.

Gobies are, by far, my favorite. Any kinda, really, but the pistol shirmp variety have some amazing color. neon gobies top the list, as do firefish and clown gobies.

Blennies are cool too.

Dude, that's what I do with mine, he outgrew the 5000 gal a long time ago, but when I take him to the beach, I don't need a leash, he just swims with me:

Lime wrasse........awesome color!

Well, a while ago Mike Parkis had a lime wrasse. I bought it, brought it home and never saw it again.

I guess they arent rare, but they have been for me. I still havent seen another.

I had a royal grama once....it terrorized all the other fish (including a loin)in my 55, then he just disappeared for three weeks, figured the lion finally ate him...but one day while I was cleaning..pow!!!attacked my fingers..looked for a spawning bed, but no eggs...just hiding under a rock i guess....territoral little
#$%@!eek:

My 6 line is the most agressive fish in my tank, he is chasing the RG around the tank all the time. When I first got them, the RG lost a bit of fin, but now she knows when to hide and when to fight. If she get fed up, she turns around and looks at the 6 line and opens her mouth and the 6 line is gonne.
