I got a hold of a skimmer that doens't have a seal from the collection cup and the body. I was thinking about putting a union on there, but I'm not sure if PVC glue will hold on the acrylic; or if Acrylic cement will hold on PVC. . . granted, it doesnt' have to be a super strong hold, just a seal.

Ideas?

I think Weld On 40 will glue both pvc and acrylic...

hey be careful using alcohol to clean acrylic, certain kinds of acrylic will be ruined from organic solvents. The alcohol will crack the acrylic. If you rinse the acylic quickly after cleaning it with alcohol you should be okay. If you are only cleaning the area to bond don't worry. DOn't drink the stuff, it is nasty lol

Seal between the body and collection cup is usually accomplished with an o-ring or something?

That's what I said, but the euro reefs have a union of some sort, so he's going to put one in.

yeah, it's kind of hard to explain.. I'll see if I can get a pic, but the collection up fits inside the neck, but there is no o-ring to seal it. . . I went to Lowe's to see if they have 4" unions. . . maybe I'll mod it somehow to just use an o-ring or something. . . also, I'm modifying the air injector. . . so far so good..
