came home to find my sea hare next to a clump of stringy white stuff. noticed it was coming out of his mouth in a single strand, kinda confused as to whats going on.

I've read that sea hare eggs look like long ribbons of spaghetti, and yours seems to fit that description. Do you have hermits or other scavengers in your tank? I wonder if they will be around long enough to observe or if something will eat it. Check out this page, especially the part that says they usually die after laying eggs. Keep a sharp lookout and yank it if it dies... quickly.

It is very possible that it is laying eggs. They do that a lot in aquariums.

i didn't realize so many things reproduce readily in aquaria. although i tried to do some research on hatching and caring for the egg mass but couldnt come up with much information. all ive found out is they hatch in 8-12 days into a zooplankton stage, stay in that stage for up to a few weeks until they metamorphise into their final form. i was gonna put them in a 20 gallon with an airstone, try feeding phyto to see if i could get them to survive til they change.

i re-scaped my tank and after that all the snails spawned all at once. CRAZY looked like my rock was smoking
