I need advice on my lighting....

i was using 250 W MH on my 60. recently i've upgraded to a 125. my plan is to hang the 250 on one side of the tank and another MH on the other side. the question now becomes do i stay with another 250 W or can i step down to a 175, or should i step up to a 400?

would the tank look weird with one side brighter than the other? if i went with the 175 would the light intensity even be that much of a difference?

You'll notice a difference between the 250 and 175, very much so.

You kinda have a few options here. Depending on how long the tank is, you may want to go with 3 lights. If it's 4' long, you'd be ok with 2, 1 on each side. If it's over 4', go with 3. The rule of thumb is 1 light per 2'. The wattage is up to you. You already have a 250, so just stick with 250's IMO, Especially with a 125.
The other thing to consider is the 400's, but then your looking at quite an investment.
If you drop down to 175's, even with 3, you'll be limiting yourself I think.
