does it matter what kind of reflectors you get for your metal halides? because i just got curved reflectors rather than the more retangular ones. does the material matter?

big time. The refelctor makes ALL the difference in the amount of light returned. The material, and the shape. The best refelctors out tehre are the PFO parellel ones, and for DE, the SLS and the PFO mini.

They do make a heck of a difference, sanjay joshi has done a good deal of research with reflectors and gives actual numbers.
Sorry eric, but the best SE reflector is the Pacific Garden Supply Lumenarc III. The downside to them is that they're $130 each

let me rephrase that... the PFOs are the best bang for you buck. . . the lumenarcs are the best of the best... but budget-wise... get the PFOs. . .
