Hey guys, you ever wanted to put MH over your nano but didn't want to fry it with a 175w SE fixture?
Have I got something for you!
I built a 70w MH setup ala www.nano-reef.com using an Aromat electronic ballast, a Regent fixture, and an Ushio 10k bulb. The ballast's in a gutted computer power supply so you have a good-looking, fan cooled, easily switched on/off ballast.
The wire going from the ballast to the light is a computer power cord. The wire coming from the light is the other side of the power cord. This means easy disconnect if you need to move it around/reinstall/take off the hood, etc.
Its been up and running since the end of Feb, so the bulb's ~4 weeks old.
I just bought an 80 that I need either an internal or external 11-1200gph pump for, or about what I have into this: $120.
email me for pics, more info.
