Has anyone ever lengthened the intake tube on a backpack? I took out my refugium and installed an empty tank for the sump but the water level is too low for the pump. any ideas on how to lengthen the tube?

if its going in a sump, why not stick the whole cpr into the sump? people do it with urchin hob skimmers, i plan to stick my cpr in my fuge

if it still doesn't reach tho, jus take some rubber hose and extend it, it might reduce the amount of water that goes thru it since you increased the head height, but not by to much

Yup, extended the tube on mine about 6 inches. Works just fine. As stated, if extended too far, you may need to go to a bit larger pump. ie: Current pump is a MJ400, go to a MJ900

I got it from AW (free) works great. I could not put it in the sump because of the screws on the bottom. I also had to put the elbow on the return backwards so it flows against the side of the tank, less bubbles. Thanks for your help.
