i needed a cherub angel out of my tank so i thought:what:. so i made a diy fishtrap with picture guidance from daveocean, thnks dave!
so, between meals(phokin barometer (ed)):spam: i constructed the trap
here's the smaller version good for, you guessed it, smaller tanks/fishhttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/bottomtrn/P3240019.jpg
and the 1 gal----note blue couch for effect nick!:ohsnap: versionhttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/bottomtrn/P3240018.jpg
key points for building
1. make the top hinge large enough so that it can open wide. you want the fish that you're not targeting to get out easy or else all hell breaks out!
2. make your hinge cuts where the neck of the bottle meets the main body...allows for wider opening.
key trapping points.
1. be patient and put in place and allow plenty of time (hrs not mins.) for the fish to feel comfortable around or inside it.
2. place a weight i.e. lr rubble inside near base.
3. place the bait at the base so that the fish have to swim all the way in.
4. be patient!
