I'm going to start a seahorse tank, does anyone know what local stores have them?

I saw a few down at pet kingdom about a month ago. They didn't look too happy though and I won't buy anything from them.

Really are they not very good for fish? What about coral or live rock? They're the closest store to me, so I was planning on going there!

Actually I have never bought any livestock from Pet Kingdom. Every time I've been down there I have not been impressed with the way the fish look. As for corals they have a nice selection. Octopus Gardens is much better for fish, liverock, and corals and they are not too far from pretty much anywhere in San Diego.

Also try Mike Parkis and the new Blue Lagoon. Mike has great prices on nice corals.

I've never seen a sea horse at Octopus Garden.

This is a local guy, David (he is on this board and Reefcentral under DavidM). He breeds sea horses, might try him for some CB ones.

oh and Goldfish wolrd on Convoy usally has sea horses.

I know Ron at OG will special order anything you need if you ask him. He drives up to LA once a week (Fridays?) and handpicks all his livestock. Give that a try. Make sure you get a captive bred, but I'm sure you know that already.
