Having it in the corner, if you are wearing earplugs to drown out the highs, kind of acts like playing in front of a monitor. I am so jealous!!!!! Not only will our house move be to allow for a bigger tank, but will hopefully allow me to build a recording/ jam studio!!! Then I can bust out all the gear and people could just come over empty handed and jam!!!! Are those maple Dave? Looks like really nice hardware too! Screw the neighbors!!!! Get to poundin Dave so I can hear ya down here in IB! IMO, the only thing better than taking care of a reef tank is tapping into your soul and letting the emotions and feelings come through in song!!!! Nice tradeoff!!!!!!!!!!

Yep that's exactly why it's facing the corner...it 'loads' up the low frequencies on the kick drum as well as the toms. It's an all maple kit from Mapex and with a little help from my dad (percussionist and music instructor) we've got it tuned great...now back to practicing!
