Im trying to install a standpipe for a friend who has a small overflow box, we tried using one of those pre-built durso standpipes and its just too big. I think I might be able to fit a durso with the right size tubing in there. Anything you can think of that takes up less room? The overflow box is about, 4x6". Im trying not to spend a lot of time on it, but need to make it quiet. Have anyway to make durso which takes up less room? The herbie seems like it would be big pain in the ass

I've seen compact ones make by cutting down the tee and the 90 elbow like this:

You could also make a Stckman standpipe. Same principle but smaller footprint.

thanks for the stickman link, i was thinking about building an overflow box with something like that, only upsidedown in the tank for the water to overflow into.
