Had this for a little while , ive been searching here,RC,and other forums but I can"t find anything on it, it looks kind of like the cotton candy algae but its more like a carpet... I can't scrape of with a scrub brush even after leaving the rock out of water for 24 hrs...I am going to try the MEX Turbos tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone has had it and how they got rid of it ...Thanks!!!

It is a form of Asparagopsis taxiformis (http://saltcorner.com/sections/guest/algaepage/Red/redhair/Ataxiformis.htm). This algae is very aggressive and invasive in some environments and lay dormant in others. "Mexican Turbo" and tangs as possible cures only comes from anecdotal reports and may or may not affect large outbreaks. In the wild, Asparagopsis taxiformis occurs in areas lacking in other competing algaes. As a result, some have had success by introducing fast growing macro algaes such as caulerpa or chaetomorpha to combat it.
