Well i noticed the first bout a week ago and thought nothing of it, until it got worse, did some research and now think it is black ich (never heard of it till now). What are my options as i only have lps and softies a cleaner shrimp and yellow watchman goby which are fine, any suggestions thanks......

remove it to QT and treat with hyposalinity (1.010) and formalin or copper.

If the fish is hosting hammer, frogspawn, etc... It may be just burns from that. They will go away w/ time.

Yeah, like Brady said, various corals can cause melanistic spots on the clown. My percs have black lips, for example :) I've only ever seen black spot disease on yellow tangs. The spots are VERY small.

If the clown is rubbing itself on the LPS or softies that is your source. Not likely any kind of disease unless you notice sugar like grannuals on the skin. Black spotting is a reaction to the non-traditional host.
