Hey Guys,

Anyone know a good place to fly RC airplanes in SD. I got a nitro plane for graduation and finished assembling it a few months ago but have no idea where to fly it. I've found a lot of local clubs but they are all "electric only". Sucks to have this thing all built and not be able to fly it. And RC nuts out there?

I would check with the local hobby stores. I just looked up torrey pines but there are requirements.

Yeah, I tried a few hobby shops (like the one new OG) but they are all for electric flyers. I know that seaworld and Torry Pines near me are for electrics or gliders only. I may just have to go out to the desert and play there. A little more planning and research and I DEFINITELY would gone electric.

he best place to fly nitro planes would be up at the 15 and the 76. Palomar RC clud has a really nice paved runway, covered tables, even have paved landing pads for heli's. Gotta be a mamber of the club, but I am sure you can get on as a visitor for a day or 2.

Ha, well i don't think i could teach you, even though i've never crashed (never flown either). I downloaded the free trial version of the G4 flight simulator and it's pretty sweet. I've logged a lot of hours on the simulator.

how long does the trial version last for? And what are you using to fly? Radio w/ usb or something???

The trial version lasts indefinitely, however the features are heavily limited. Unfortunately, I'm using the keyboard to train. Lame, I know. But $200 for the full version is a little steep for me. That's the same cost as an electric trainer.
