well, moved out SD for about 1 and half month now. Got me a puppy, so just thought I use this chance to show him off and say hi to all my friends on sdreef. Miss SD and everyone I met through the hobby.

Nova is a Husky/Lab mix, according to the paper from Furry friends in Oceanside. He is about 4 month old now.

Happy reefing everybody.:D

Nova says "Hi!"

this and next pix is about one week ago

What a cute dog Nova is! Congrats on your puppy.

Here is a pic of our Shiba Inu Trixie when she was a Puppy. A little over a year ago.

Furry Friends is a adoption/petstore place at 1021 S. P.C.H., Oceanside, CA 92054 760-433-8453

well, his paw isn't as big as you think. I seen Lab. with paws at vet I go to probably almost 2x Nova's paw size. My friend and I don't think he is going to get as big as pure Husky or pure Lab.

Some people think he has some shepher in him, no idea. I am just going by what it says on the paper.

thanks for the kind words, I will let Nova know you guys think he is cute.

wow a shiba inu...very cute. My gf wanted one, but they are all so expensive and not easily find like other type of dogs. I seen them go for over 1000 dollars. But of course I didn't look at the shelter or rescue at that time.

I heard Shiba isn't too good at offleash, they are suppose to be runner. That was one reason make me hesitent about getting Shiba. I need to have a dog that will listen to me, not running away. Perhapes you can educate me on the Shiba Inu. sure is very cute dog. Perhapes I will make that my next dog, since I got Nova already.

Do you have a recent picture of Trixie?? for some reason I thought Shiba Inu face looks like a fox with rounded ears.

To top it off, I have the father(who i rescued) and the his son(khan) was born on my birthday. I had to hand deliver him, for some reason he was stuck and turning blue. The only thing we did was throw that blanket on him, he is hugging the bear on his own.

Shibas are definitely not the dog for everyone. Good for you George for doing your research. They have a very strong prey drive, why they are known for being 'runners'. They absolutely can be trained, they're actually super intelligent which can make it difficult for many. Most people don't know how to be a dog's alpha and properly teach them to behave as one wants them to.

Beautiful Shiba BTW Patty, I bet she'd have a blast running with my Ibizan Hound, Pikachu

Hey Flamehawk,
I hope that I am not hijacking your thread as I am just responding back to your questions. :)
Trixie was born 11/5/06 making her just shy of 20 months old now. I am planning on breeding her this comming heat to my friend's Shiba Inu that is 2 weeks older then her and has MAJOR champion bloodlines throughout his entire lineage. Depending on how much my friends charge me for stud, I plan on selling her pups at a very reasonable price of $600-800 most likely.
Trixie's nickname is Sweetie Pie as she is very intelligent, loving and playful with us all the time. She is definitely a runner and NOT off leash trained. We never worked with her on that as we have 2 1/4 acres and she is perfectly content within her yard that she shares with our 2 other big dogs.

If you are interested and want some more details about her I will provide you with more info and stories but don't want to bore you either.

I think Nova is very cute and if he is energetic & playful then a Shiba might be a good partner in crime for him. J/K LOL
Take care,
Patty
BTW- I corrected her age at 20 months not 18. Blondie moment!

"Beautiful Shiba BTW Patty, I bet she'd have a blast running with my Ibizan Hound, Pikachu"

She sure would. She loves to play and is very speedy on her "stilts". If she had not grown just over the heigth limit I would have shown her. Oh well, we love her all the same! :)

George- glad to see you're still doing OK outside of SD. If you're looking for other dogs for a playmate to Nova, then a mini American Eskimo could be a good match. Stays pretty small, energetic and fun loving. Again though, they're pretty intelligent and need a good owner/trainer or else they'll definitely run your life. I'll post pics of mine when I get the chance (and on my own comp).

Patty- please let me know if/when you breed yours. I'm definitely interested in one, but don't want to hijack this thread anymore ::runaway::
